• Group problem solving/discussions
  • school asthma policy, program planning and implementation, child education approaches, behavior management
• Simulation of group environment
  • role play as instructor and child in group, peer/self evaluation
• Written exam
• Certification of completion/ CE credits Instructors RAP Manual
• "Tool box" of resources and ideas
• Provides specific guidance for the novice
• Emphasizes use of underlying principles and objectives
• Flexible to meet the needs of the school/group/instructor

Recommended qualifications

• Must be a health care professional
• Experience/interest in child health care
• Experience in health education (group preferred)
• Basic understanding of asthma - serve as facilitator not expert
• Partner with local asthma experts to serve as advisor/consultant as needed
