Abstract
Daycare providers carry the responsibility of caring for young children with asthma yet often have little education or guidance on how to manage asthma or prevent problems.
Goal: Our project aims to optimize the care of children with asthma and/or allergies in the daycare setting by providing the necessary education and resources to daycare providers in Edmonton.
Methods: First a multi-sectional, multi-disciplinary advisory committee was established to guide the overall project and direction. A written survey was distributed to the non-profit daycares to pilot the questionnaire and assess the individual needs of the daycares. The survey will also be distributed to the for-profit daycares.
